Mary Baldwin University Donor Recognition Societies
Mary Baldwin’s unique donor recognition societies celebrate the impact that sustained giving has on the university. Your philanthropy supports and empowers our students, enhances academic excellence and attracts and retains exceptional faculty as we prepare the next generation of compassionate changemakers. Whether you give every year, demonstrate a lifetime of generosity, or include the university in your charitable estate or financial plans, Mary Baldwin University honors and recognizes your commitment.
Lifetime Giving Societies
Membership in The Lifetime Giving Societies is Mary Baldwin University’s most prestigious donor recognition honoring the leadership and extraordinary support of alumni, friends, faculty and staff. Individuals are inducted into one of five societies named in honor of milestone years throughout Mary Baldwin’s history. Individuals become members based on their outright, cumulative giving over time to the university. Cumulative giving is calculated based on gifts received through the fiscal year ending June 30.
Lifetime Giving Society Benefits
- In person and/or virtual visits with university president and executive staff.
- Invitation to exclusive virtual and/or in-person conversations with faculty and administrative leaders.
- Name recognition on the university website.
- Priority recognition of leadership support at events throughout the year.

Named for the year of the founding of the Augusta Female Seminary at the inception of the institution’s history, The 1842 Society represents the highest lifetime giving recognition, honoring donors who contribute a cumulative total of $5 million or more to the university over the course of their lifetimes.

Named for the year Augusta Female Seminary was renamed Mary Baldwin Seminary in 1895 in honor of Mary Julia Baldwin, The 1895 Society recognizes donors who contribute a cumulative total of $1 million to $4.99 million to the university over the course of their lifetimes.

Named for the year Mary Baldwin Seminary became Mary Baldwin College, The 1923 recognizes donors who contribute a cumulative total of $500,000 to $999,999 to the university over the course of their lifetimes.

Named for the 150 year anniversary of the founding of the Augusta Female Seminary, The 1992 Society recognizes donors who contribute a cumulative total of $250,000 to $499,999 to the university over the course of their lifetimes.

Named for the year Mary Baldwin College became Mary Baldwin University reflecting the institution’s range of bachelors, masters and PhD programs, The 2016 Society recognizes donors who contribute a cumulative total of $100,000 to $249,999 to the university over the course of their lifetimes.
Annual Giving Circles
Membership in the Annual Giving Circles honors the leadership and extraordinary support of alumni, friends, faculty and staff. Individuals are inducted into one of the five giving circles named in honor of our academic leaders and symbols in the Mary Baldwin seal. Individuals become members based on their outright, cumulative giving during a fiscal year.

The President’s Circle
The President’s Circle, our highest recognition level, is reserved for donors who contribute $20,000 or more annually to the university.

The Provost’s Circle
The Provost’s Circle recognizes donors who contribute $10,000 to $19,999 annually to the university.

The Deans Circle
The Deans’ Circle recognizes donors who contribute $5,000 to $9,999 annually to the university.

The Oak Leaf Circle
The Oak Leaf Circle recognizes donors who contribute $2,500 to $4,999 annually to the university.

The Acorn Circle
The Acorn Circle recognizes donors who contribute $1,000 to $2,499 annually to the university.
Mary Gold Recognition
The Mary Gold status is awarded each year to our most loyal and generous donors who are recognized for their cumulative lifetime support in a lifetime giving society, their membership in the Kiracofe Society, and for their generous annual support in one of the named annual giving circles.

Kiracofe Society
The Kiracofe Society, named in honor of faithful alumna Charlene Kiracofe ‘25. On a teacher’s salary, Charlene made annual gifts throughout her lifetime and committed to remembering Mary Baldwin in her will. When she died in 1987, Mary Baldwin received a substantial gift, just as she planned. In that same year, The Kiracofe Society was established to recognize those who honor Mary Baldwin through a provision in their estate plan.
