MBU Awarded Match Funding Opportunity

Donors now have the opportunity to double the impact of their gifts through the end of the year.

The Jessie Ball duPont Foundation has partnered with social-benefit technology company Lightful to offer MBU a match up to $25,000 for online donations in November and December.

The matching opportunity comes with additional benefits for MBU staff members in the Office of University Advancement. They are participating in Lightful’s Building Resilience in Digital Growth and Engagement (BRIDGE), a six-month boost of professional development in digital fundraising, marketing, and analytics.

It’s a win-win for the university, said Megan McAllister, director of annual philanthropy and two-time BRIDGE participant.

“Advancement team members get to hone our skills and learn from industry experts with a passion for helping nonprofits, all while unlocking a significant addition to gifts from our generous MBU donors,” she said.

Live masterclasses, e-learning courses, and peer networking are all highlights of the program’s offerings. MBU participants also access coaching sessions with Lightful representatives for tailored feedback on campaigns and appeals.

The match is contingent upon MBU staffers’ engagement with the BRIDGE program as well as the total amount raised through December. Donors can help the university secure the maximum amount of matched funding and increase the benefit to MBU students with any of the following:

  • Show support for MBU on #GivingTuesday (November 30).
  • Give to the Deck the Hills campaign and share an encouraging message to greet students after winter break.
  • Make your year-end gift by December 31.

All gifts toward the match also count toward the comprehensive MBU Empowers Campaign goal.
